each / every adalah termasuk kedalam golongan verb singular, contohnya seperti : every man, woman, child needs love.

- the comic = noun (singular) atau disebut juga dengan kata benda yang hanya 1
- the table = preposition phrase atau disebut juga dengan keterangan/ kalimat pelengkap
- is mine = verb (singular) atau disebut juga kata kerja yang hanya 1

keterangan :
1. karena “ a girl and boy” adalah plural, maka yang digunakan adalah “are” sebab terdapat lebih dari 1 noun
2. karena terdapat kata “every” maka yang digunakan adalah “is”
3. karena “the fruit” adalah singular, maka yang digunakan adalah “is”
4. karena “the apples” adalah plural (ada “s”), maka yang digunakan adalah “are”
· some of, a lot of, none of, half of, most of => bisa diikuti dengan singular noun, singular verb atau plural noun, plural verb. Contoh :
1. some of the fruit in this bowl is rotten
2. some of the apples in that bowl are rotten
· each of, every of, one of => diikuti plural noun, verb tetap singular

- the number of employees in my company is approximately ten thousand
